Your solution for a whiter and brighter smile

Professional Teeth Whitening in Sherwood, Brisbane

Teeth whitening is one of the quickest, easiest and most popular ways to improve your smile. The process works to lighten the existing shade of your natural teeth by using a peroxide teeth whitening gel to penetrate deep into the tooth and remove stains from the inner, dentine layer.

We’re often asked ‘Is teeth whitening safe?’ and we can guarantee that our professional teeth whitening products (those sold or administered by a dental professional) are 100% safe and will not damage your teeth in any way. You can learn more about our professional teeth whitening services below!

There are many reasons why teeth can become discoloured – diet is often the main factor:

  • Coffee and tea (even green tea)
  • Red wine
  • Existing, discoloured/darker fillings and crowns
  • Ageing
  • Certain foods – berries, curries, anything with turmeric
  • Specific medications
  • Damage to the teeth
  • Smoking

We’ll need to see you first for a quick consultation, to check that your teeth are suited to having whitening. We can also discuss which whitening options would best suit your needs.

Types of professional teeth whitening

At Sherwood Dental we understand that teeth whitening can be a big commitment of both time and money. That’s why we offer a number of different professional teeth whitening options.

Ultimately, the treatment can be carried out by our team here at Sherwood Dental, or from the comfort of your own home with our at home teeth whitening kit. Learn more below!

At home teeth whitening kit

Home whitening involves wearing whitening gel in custom-made trays, usually for 14 consecutive days (for 30-60 minutes each day). Compared to in-chair whitening, professional home teeth whitening kits are generally a more affordable option.

In-chair professional teeth whitening

On the other hand, In-chair peroxide teeth whitening is done in a single appointment, taking just over 2 hours. In general this method is less affordable than at home peroxide whitening.

What professional teeth whitening method is best for me?

The results of home and in-chair whitening are fairly similar so people usually make the decision based on convenience and cost. Contact our friendly Sherwood Dental team to book your consultation or find out more today!
